My Encounter Releases Highlights, Asks for Assistance

2013 was a banner year for the My Encounter project, with over 120 individuals interviewed across the world. Here is a highlight reel of some of the most striking interviews conducted in 2013.

The My Encounter project has announced an ambitious plan to interview 100 individuals before Gimmel Tamuz.

According to director Rabbi Yechiel Cagen, funding for the project’s $225,000 budget is covered only in very small part by DVD sales; the lion’s share is provided through donations from individuals and families who appreciate the urgency of recording these testimonies. The funds go toward the expenses of research, interviewing, cinematography lights and sound, as well as transcribing and preserving the interviews.

The My Encounter project has launched an innovative way for people to join and help record more testimonies – the Dollar Per Interview Campaign, where people donate $1 (or $2, $5, $18, etc.) per interview. “This small amount brings down the price per interview, and enables us to go out and record the critical interviews on our list.”

Every month, partners in the campaign receive an exclusive report and summary of the new interviews conducted.

“Last year, we captured so many amazing stories. There are so many great ones waiting to be recorded.”
